So Planned Barrenhood Wants 1.4 Billion

Michael Bray 1995 for Advocates For Life

That’s one billion, four hundred million U.S. dollars.  Sounds like some kind of federal deficit number bantered about by profligate congressmen. And they got some fancy New York City law firm called Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

We shall pray for them: Lord, “Break the teeth of their mouths. . . let them vanish like water that runs away . . . Let them be like the snail which dissolves into slime, like the untimely birth that never sees the sun” (Ps. 58:6-8).

Actually, we have strategy beyond prayer. We are calling upon all our fellow prolife organizations to come to our assistance because we’re all in this together. We want your mailing lists . . .

How much is 1.4 billion? It is one billion, four hundred million.

Not an insuperable problem. Let’s see. After depositions, as many as all the 40 million prolifers in the U.S. could be included in this speech-assailing suit – if they were all to proclaim the truth unwaveringly. The fine divided among all those folks would be a mere $350 a piece. The suit is all about calling abortionists “murderers” which particular speech might incite action designed to terminate or otherwise do harm to the same.

In the immortal words of Rodney King, “Can’t we just get along?” There is just too much heat coming down from the PP-Clinto-Congro-Supro-NOWist Coalition of Abortophiliacs. We’re going to get nailed; then, the less radicals, and the reasonables; and then the fashionably moderates followed by the regular moderates, clear down the line to the seamless garment open-mindeds.

We have a plan. We want all prolife organizations to cough up their mailing lists. That’s right. We mean you Judie and you, too, Wanda. For that matter, we want Dobson’s and Falwell’s and Robertson’s and the Catholic Conference’s, the CAC’s, and Lutherans and Episcopalians and Methodists, etc. for Life’s. Yes, we even want Flip and Mahatmahoney’s well-solicited OR list.

We’re all in this together. But we’re on the chopping block, so we get to cut the deal. They’re comin’ after all y’all eventually. So help us work for the whole movement now. Here’s the plan.

• Solicit $350 bucks from each person. Small price to pay.

Small price to pay now to keep them from getting everyone in the end. Let’s pull together and work this thing out.

• Might conduct a poll, however.

Find out how many support defensive action How many support calling abortion murder

• If a large number of folks on the prolife mailing lists affirm these things and really believe that babies are babies . . . why, we might just change our minds and fight this thing.
