Ya Turn ’em Loose!

The message to our President regarding our anti-abortion prisoners of Christ must be:  “Ya turn ’em loose.”

That scene in the film, “A Time to Kill,” based upon John Grisham’s novel by the same title comes strongly to mind.  There on the witness stand is the sheriff who was maimed by the bullets fired by the father of the 10-year-old girl who was raped.  The bullets were designed to kill the rapists in cold blood as they were going to trial.  The sheriff has no grudge against the defendant, who shot him, because he knows the righteous intent the assailant, now on trial, had in executing those rapists who might well have escaped the just penalty of death.

“Ya turn ’em loose!” he yells from the stand as he sits as witness for the prosecution against those who maimed him in that effort to bring about JUSTICE.

He sought a justice which he knew that the court would not provide.  It was a time to kill, indeed.

The film has a poignant application for our time as we continue to leave righteous men -not on death row, but –  locked away in prison, ignored by Christians who are ignoring the daily murders of innocent children.

Turn ’em loose!  And stop the slaughter!
