Asa Reforms

(2 Chron. 15)

He was an ass ’til he heard That word preached by Asariah And took upon those abominable idols! He restored the altar of the Lord. (8) And rounded up Judah and Benjamin Along with Ephraim, Manaseh and Simeo. Went down south to Judah Where reform was goin’ on strong. (9) Sacrificed all kinds of oxen and sheep And made a covenant they had to keep. (12) The deal was do or die, Obey God and don’t tell a lie. (13) They took that oath with trumpets and horns; (14) Yeah, all kinds of shouting and rejoicing. For they had sought the Lord and found Him. (15) (He can do it like that if He wants!) Gave them rest on every side! Dethroned that queen called Maacah For that idol that she had made. Burned it at the brook of Kidron And Asa’s heart to the Lord was turned on, (17) But he left those nasty high places, A stumbling block for other faces.
