Boarders!

(A Brief Reflection)

Indeed, I have been derelict in taking up the subject.  (Better late than never, as they say.)  We, as human beings recognized the common bond we have with each other in our humanity.  We are all created in the image of God, distinguished from the animals the rest of creation.

And yet we recognize boundaries.  There are families and nations (and states within nations) which have inclusion and exclusion policies.   Such are necessary for government, responsibility, duty, and protection.   Families draw lines of exclusion and inclusion.  So do states and nations.  Privileges are extended to members, to citizens and such exclude non-members.

That fundamental holy community – the church – may deny the holy supper to non-members or errant members.  The boarders (like the Table) are guarded.

Press on with liberty and privilege for citizens.  And give thanks to God for your citizenship.  Guard it along with your boarders.
