Brains, Sound Doctrine, and Girded Loins

Such was necessary to maintain the witness which we displayed in Reformation Lutheran Church.   I was blessed to have as a co-pastor Mike Colvin (Ph.D. I must add, as he never boasted in his degree and it went largely unnoticed by the press whenever they reported on our church and its anti-abortion witness).

Small as our church was in the D.C. area, we had, nevertheless, a strong witness. We were a church, regularly meeting in worship and conducting ministry in the neighborhood: women working at the local crisis pregnancy center (which we helped establish), members bearing witness in the streets for the sanctity of life in the womb, welcoming the weak and weary into salvation through the Gospel message.

Indeed, how good it was to have Mike as a co-pastor whenever the media surged upon us to discuss my apologetics for the protection of innocent children by means of destroying death camps (a.k.a. “abortion clinics” or by such disgustingly deceitful euphemism as “women’s health centers”!)

Praise be to Mike Colvin.  May the Lord bless and keep him and his family in these latter days of his life!
