How we strive and flail As through rough currents we sail On our turbulent journey Over seas windy and rough Designed to strain and make tough Our stubborn souls to shape Taking us at times by the nape Of our stiff necks to break Rather than leave in that lake Which will burn with fire He put in us that desire To turn and follow Him Out of darkness and din To walk in Truth and Life And put an end to strife.  Come lord, whip us along! Give a tune and a song! Onward with generous giving And robust holy living!
