Mephibosheth Fell on His Face

(2 Sam. 9)

Mephibosheth fell on his face Said to David, “Here is your servant!” And Dave said, “Don’t sweat it my man! Any one from the House of Saul I can serve?” “Jonathan,” they said. “But he’s crippled in both feet” “Well, where is he?” said David, “Bring him here for me to meet.” So Meph came along and fell down at his face, Said to David, “Hear I am, your slave!” (6) “Ah, do not fear,” said David, “I am fixin’ to be kind. (7) You know your daddy Jonathan was quite a friend of mine I’m gonna give you all the land of your Granddaddy Saul.” “What?” said Neph. “I don’t deserve it at all!” (8) “Ah but you and your sons gonna tend to the land. (10) Eat at my table! I’ll lend you a hand!” (11) Well Meph had a son by the name of Micah. (12) Must have had all the sense of a biker. Nothin’ more about him said, Must have just wound up dead. (13) He was lame in both feet, (14) So to eat he had to cheat.
