My “Dish-sprinkler”

Indeed, if the term didn’t suggest a prejudice against paedobaptism, I would rename, with due derision, my dishwasher – calling it my “dish sprinkler”;  it rarely gets all the dishes clean.  I must always rub off this or that “besmirchment” in the wake of its failure.  Ah, but such are the travails of modern, civilized Westerners (not matters which truly try the soul).  But  sometimes, in the interest of finding levity for the spirit, we must resort to such trifle.

Do you immersionists make use of those dishwashers which cleanse, indeed, their plates and utensils by means of sprinkling?

(Now that I’m thinking about sprinkling, comes another method right to mind.  There are probably many ways to spread gasoline at an abortuary . . .  but that’s another subject.)

So, let us accurately make refererence to those wonderful dishsprinklers!  Press on with thanksgiving that you don’t have to wash by hand – nor baptize new believers, dunking them in rivers.

Now, I prefer a dunking (a bathtub) when I want to get really clean.  But most often a sprinkling (quick shower) will do.

Let each baptize in whatever manner is convenient.  It is certainly not spelled out in the Scriptures.  “Baptize” is not defined as “dunk” by any Greek lexicographer.

Your dish washing and your baptizing are matters of choice.
