O Sisters!

O for my poor sisters, who Took on the tri-syllabic affliction Of last names Pendergrass and Brunstetter! O for the loss of that simple mono-syllabic “Bray”! And yet, sisters, you must make a plea (In the name of women’s rights as necessary) To retain the simple and euphonic, “Bray”! Yes! Think, sisters, of the ink you can save! But to bring it about you must behave. Plead with you’re man to make a transition Out of complexity to a new position Where the name that is chosen Is the one most easily spoken. No longer on syllables be chokin’! (So, I might counsel my daughter To walk in more easy water!) But, if he likes not the name of Bray As it reminds one of a donkey’s neigh, You can go with “Green” instead And on this matter enough is said.
