Thanks for an Excellent Wife!

Having entered my eighth decade And for many-a child’s welfare prayed I am happy yet to be wifed By one who keeps at bay that strife. She is as fair as a lady could be And still has much to do with me (A woeful beast descended from Adam Hardly worth of such a madam)! On we go living in the moment, Knowing that to heaven we are bent By the One who turned us upward Against our selfish dissent And guides us by His Spirit and Word. She’s a better wife than I a husband Illustrating what grace is about! I’m left with nothing but a shout Of thanks to God and to her! No one but Jayne would I prefer!
