The Boycott of Kroger

May a boycott of Kroger go well; Such wickedness has help from hell. One wonders who was behind such folly To facilitate the murder of babies. But a voice of protest may awaken Fools who have justice forsaken, And mercy cast out the door, Facilitating the work of the whore Who would cover her sin with death. The same damnation comes upon the man Who exploits a woman and fleas the scene Leaving her to fend for herself Treating her like a despicable elf.

Ah, but it is a strange situation!  A pastor might have, within his church, employees of Kroger and faithful customers who might be offended if the pastor speaks nastily about the store!  Can’t offend those church members!  Got to keep those pews and the coffers full! (And it is not that a church member ought to feel obliged to quit anymore than all of us citizens ought to feel obliged to stop payment of taxes – of which some portion funds abortion!)

Hmm. And we wonder why pastors could not speak against slavery when their parishioners had slaves or were related to people who owned slaves or were friends of slave owners and so on . . .
