The Unfitting People of God

Sometimes, church folk are just not holy enough for us; We just can’t abide their company and clumsy ways. Got to abandon those whom God has made saints And withdraw to our own private, refined company. Why associate with those buffoons When our own fellowship  – one or two – will do? Hmm, indeed, what arrogant petty fools are we Who think ourselves above others and can only see The flaws of buffoons and remain blind to our own. But the command of God is really quite easy: He says, simply: “Forsake not the assembly”! So what does that mean for the more perfected? Ought they stay away as not to be infected? No, their job is the edification of others: Matters not their peculiar or picky druthers. Obedience to the Word is the duty of His own Who, by constant grooming, in righteousness are honed. We move from decadence through repentance And always on Him in complete dependence. So, repent, separatists – too good for His redeemed! And join the fellowship of those on His team: Those sinners saved and in the grooming process. You ought not on the flaws of others obsess.
