A Border Meditation

If, as a national “body” of people, We are unwilling to protect ourselves From the infection that infuses us By the invasion of immigrants, We will, indeed, deserve the influx: The natural consequence of  negligence. But, of course, even dereliction Can be morphed into national benefit! Are we not short on workers to fill The demands of an economy which supposes A growth in the population of consumers? Indeed, that which  is apparent buffoonery May, indeed, be the work of a providential God Looking out for the national welfare! So, the moral of the story is to press on, Advocating the preservation of citizenship And the sustaining of national security, But ready for and open to those divine moves Where Providence comes in and makes a change Which at first is abhorrent, yes, even above strange. So, be not too disturbed when the boarders are overrun. In the end in may be turned to a time of great fun As those new citizens zealously go to work And, paying those taxes, vote as good Republicans, Pursuing the good and bringing us a needed revival.
