A Confessional Prayer (for the common man)

Lord, you know it is I, The one You ought to despise, Your number one POS (Nothin’ to it but to say it and admit; I’m your number one piece o’ shit!), Back before You to declare my sin, Frail as a balloon lookin’ at a pin. Mighty glad You got the win When they nailed You to that tree For me and all the world to see That you loved us more than the earth, Enough to come down and go through birth, And hang around with us bums Like a fellow makin’ friends with crumbs! You didn’t have to do it but You did; In history You blew off the lid! Nobody loves us like You do, And so with the world we’re through; We’re followin’ nothin’ but You. We don’t despise our weak Or reject our handicapped, By the grave sin of abortion; (Of love what a distortion!) Would that we of Your word Could recover a simple portion! To the weak or shunned we offer love (Grace comin’ down from above To save the nastiest of sinners, Yes even the earliest of beginners). But to hell with those who murder the weak In pursuit of easy life like a freak, Who make the death of a child a treasure Making evil and murder a pleasure. O turn from such sickness away! Comes soon to you that Judgment Day. You’ll fare not well down in hell Where thieves and murderers dwell.
