A Kiwanis Meditation

“To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.”

Ah!  And what is the “spiritual” all about?  What does the “spirit” need most of all?  How is the spirit best served?  What is the first thing that must be addressed regarding the spirit? 

How about its depravity, its downfall, its corruption – by sin?

Hmm.  If you address matters of the body, but neglect the spirit, you have done only half the job.  And we don’t want to do things in a half-assed manner. Deal with the whole person by means of the whole truth – which necessarily includes the GOSPEL! Indeed, the spirit of mankind is depraved by sin and in need of salvation. And that fix comes necessarily by that Good News about the Savior who took care of the sin problem.
