Amaziah Got Judah All Together

2 Chron 14:26-25:14

A son of the Moabitess Shimrith Murdered Joash right in his bed (25) Along with the son of Shimeath! Executed judgment right on his head. (24) Joash got just what was his due, A separated burial to rue. (25) Now the names of those who killed that lad Were Shemeath’s son and Jehozabad. (26) So Amaziah took the place of Joash, (25:1) A tender twenty-five, and reigned twenty-nine years. Had a momma by the name of Jehoaddan. Did some right but without the whole heart; (12) Killed the follows who killed his dad, (3) But spared the kids in compliance with the Book (4) Where it says each pays for his own; For sins each must stand alone. Then Amaziah got Judah all together; Took a census from twenty on up; (5) Found three-hundred twenty choice men Who could handle that spear and shield; Hired a hundred-thousand valiant warriors For just a hundred talents of silver. (6) But a might man of God said, “No! Oh King, do not let them go! The Lord is not with you or the sons of Ephraim. (7) He will bring you down before the enemy; (8) He’s got all the power; can’t you see? (9) Amaziah had paid to beat those Yankees But the prophet of God said, “You don’t need ’em!” The king struck down ten thousand sons of Seir, (11) But he brought back some idols from the war; (14) Yeah, just like others, he played the whore.
