Asa Took Down Those Idols

(2 Chron 15:8f.)

Asa took down those abominable idols (Like blowin’ those clinics up!) So he cleared up Judah and Benjamin And the country cities of Ephraim. (8) He restored the altar of the Lord. ‘Twas the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign (10) Sacrificed a whole lot of oxen and sheep: Seventy-seven hundred!  The blood ran deep! Made a covenant to seek the Lord; (12) They were serious – “heart and soul”: All apostates would be executed, (13) No matter whether great or small. (13) Made that oath with trumpets and horns, (14) Dedicated like a people reborn. Dethroned that queen mother Maacah! (16) (Put that “B” down uh huh!) Did not destroy all the “high places,” But Asa’s heart was in the place. (17)
