Concern for Fame

Concern for fame? Sounds kind o’ lame Given all that shame We all have in our sin, But I give it a think Even if I end in a stink. Not the undefeated state champ or Outstanding wrestler of the County; Not for takin’ Kathie Lee to the prom; Nor the siring of 11 model citizens. Not even for marrying Rockmont’s hottest (Can’t say “Jayne.” She’s too modest). It’s that poetry that makes the fame! Oh it’ll win some acclaim! Got the message if not the right rhyme Preachin’ that truth most sublime About that One who rose from death Givin’ us hope at that final breath. ‘Tis good to tickle ears with truth! A meal for a fellow to bite with that tooth, Diggin’ down into that tasty meat After graduatin’ from the teat. Got to go from milk to real food, Like a hungry cowboy, not some dude. You get a lot o’ holy vigor As your love for justice grows bigger.
