Daughter of Eliam

(2 Sam 11)

Bathsheba was the daughter of  Eliam And David went out to trot After that wife of a loyal Hittite A woman bound to do right. He was a fellow by the name of Uriah So David worked up a plan to say “Goodbye-a” Put him right out on the front line; He’d be killed and David’s sin wouldn’t shine. Yeah, conspirators were David and Joab! Didn’t take but one little jab Of a spear from the enemies of Israel. But for grace, a murderer must go to hell And to that place, David surely was bound, But for the grace in Messiah that he found. And that’s a story that will come a little later; Got to see first that David’s quite the hater. He’s a man quite grim, full of sin; Only God his salvation could win. A Bathsheba may come into your life. Run away and stick with your wife!
