Derelict on Christmas Cards

Derelict we are at Christmas time; We just don’t send out cards! Haven’t for many-a year And sometimes think we may get a sneer: Those diligent, faithful card-senders Get nothin’ from us lazy bums! And we mean no offense; just a thing We don’t do this time of year. Seems we’re harried enough with all the cheer That puttin’ out cards just doesn’t make the list. But we don’t mean to get anyone pissed. It really is a good tradition – keeping folks in touch (But all the hustle to get ’em out we don’t miss much)! Maybe as time wears on and folks die off We’ll think it over again and get soft. But for now, we’ll eat, drink, and be merry, And on cards from others, we won’t tarry.
