For an Eternity

For an eternity!  Before anything was made! The Triune God existed: Independent, self-sufficient, self-contained. Content, He needed nothing – angels, people, matter. Yes, this God, happy, yes, and in need of nothing, Was content to entertain Himself by making things out of nothing. He got around to creating angels sometime way back In heavenly history, and it wasn’t out of a need. The Father, Son and Spirit wanted to create other beings. And that brings us to human history recounted in Genesis. In the beginning of history as it concerns humans, God decided to create human beings in His very “image”: That is, a being with moral standing.  And this Adam Was righteous as the day is long and bright. But he wasn’t endowed with the might To resist the choice to disobey – to sin. He was made able to choose to disobey and to die. (Yeah, that “choice” thing can get a person in trouble!) And God, the Father, Son, and Spirit knew this And yet proceeded with a purpose we do not fully know. But we do understand that history will prove His glory. It is not a meaningless account of countless stories. Oh the Blessed Trinity! For an eternity, the Father witnessed The love between the Son and the Spirit, And for an eternity, the Son witnessed The love between the Spirit and the Father. And for and eternity, the Spirit witnessed The love between the Father and the Son. So it is that the Triune God existed from eternity. And so, on it goes, as all three witness your life And for you provide a remedy for your sin: The Son taking the blows as He was led by The Spirit sent by the Father to die and rise again. And what do you do about this invaluable work? Do you look away and go about life like some jerk? Wake up and deal with what really matters in life; Give up all the vain pursuits and meaningless strife. Bow before the One who died for you saved you from death. Do it now, don’t wait a minute, can’t count upon another breath.
