From Time to Time

From time to time God delivers His own into the hands of His enemies to serve as a witness.

How is this?

Just as Jesus was delivered into the hands of evil-doers to bear witness to the grace of God,  so His followers are so delivered.  When abused and persecuted by those who hate the message, they maintain the same testimony that He did to the truth: that all are sinners in need of redemption and that redemption comes only through the death of the Savior.

So it is that His followers are bidden – at times – to accept this form of witness and to submit to persecution and death.
