I Am; She Is

1 Dec., 2021

I am a selfish wretch; She is a gracious wife. I am the curse of sin; She is the grace of God, And goes about the day Without array and little pay Bringing in those bucks for us While I tap away some poetry Or notes of guidance for the world. I keep abreast of the latest news So I can proffer my views For the wise and foolish alike. Some would rather take a hike Than even hint that they might like My assessments and advice To a world sunken into vice, But I am not dissuaded from the task Of putting out wisdom though none ask. The simple are in need of the Truth Along the cowardly too timid to speak, So I put it out into the internet air And hope to find that it may better fare Someone well in the reading of it.
