In Honor of Joseph A. Bray

We honor our dad, known as Joseph A A man who honored the name of Bray. He left home to go to Annapolis; Was sent off to many-a metropolis Around the nation and lots of the world. And to the same his family he unfurled That Light shining for the glory of God, For Him, his wife and kids to laud. He showed us the way by living it out; Didn’t need to apply many spanks or shouts. Showed that patience and resolution “Nothing is easy”; just find the solution. And so he traveled to the very end To join with the Savior in that big tent Where all will be gathered to praise and adore That One whose blood for us He did pour. And no higher task could a father perform Than to show us the way out of the storm Of a world twirling about in delusion In desperate need of an infusion Of that Spirit sent by the Lord Himself Who came down from that heavenly shelf To guide us and keep us on His path Avoiding that pain of well-earned wrath.
