“Just As You Are”?

The message of the Gospel is not summarily: God loves you as you are.  Rather, it is: Repent!  God died for you and calls you to repent and receive His salvation.

Sometimes popular Christian radio music sends out a crooked message. No, “He loves you as you are” does not get it.  He loves you, despite your filthiness and died to save you from the consequences of your sin

Glory not in yourself  “as you are” – a sinner, but as one created in His image (who rebelled and hated Him despite His goodness to you). He, nevertheless died for you (filthy as you are) and calls you to repentance to be forgiven (and cleansed) and restored to fellowship with Him and His saints.
