Pater Familias Paraphernalia

Pater familias paraphernalia Is a problem in our house: Dad likes to save mementos: Mom likes to throw them out! Everyone’s got his “thing” to do: Some like to work, some like to chew And don’t know just what to do. We, each, have a plan; Can’t just sit, (You understand!): Some like to write, some like to clean: Others just like to be mean. Each must chart out his day With chores and a bit of play. I try to be as good as I can be, Walk in His way to stay happy, So it’s to my poetry I withdraw, Write about wickedness and the Law. (Plenty of sin in each and every day. Confess and repent! It’s the only way.) But I like to save that “junk”; Just got to get us a real big trunk! Got to stay busy or get dusty. Invigorate or you’ll get rusty.
