Pure Praise

Pure praise comes from the lips Of the one who knows he was chosen. Left to himself he would serve himself Found his own philosophy of life, Chose his own way, his own wife, Go about living his days By his own whims and ways But having been called from above By God who displayed His love For all the world to see (Yes!  How can it be?) Angels and soldiers are rulers Did witness the feats of the Savior Who looked not to our behavior (Nothing there for a Holy One to savor! Just punks, chumps, and hags As righteous as filthy rags.) And when we see Him in His glory We got nothin’; His is the story.
