The Church

The Church (as The Gathering) Is not first an entertainment venue; Nor a place for one to get his ears tickled; Not first a place to socialize and relieve Oneself from the boredom of one’s sorrows. It is, first, the gathering of God’s people To worship the Father, Son, and Spirit. It is the place where God’s special presence Comes to all who have come in His name. And yet all those who come are well served With better entertainment than can be found Anywhere in the theaters around the world: The very Presence of God amidst His people And in the Body and Blood broken for us. That social event is greater than any other; That Food is better than any other, Because He is there among those He saved.
