THE Ecclesiastical Scandal of Our Time

There are scandals in local churches and sometimes in denominations involving leaders who ought to know better and be held strictly to a high standard.  We all fall short and those who bear the name of Christ who are high in profile and fall do bring the brightest light of shame upon the Name.  So with apostates Bill Clinton and now Joe Biden.

One may wonder how a man who affirms God’s word as truth can at the same time affirm abortion as a “right” of women!  A legitimate moral action!

But such is the depravity of mankind.  (We moderns have nothing on those slave-holders.) Sin just keeps on working its way through the human race. Only by the Spirit of God opening up a decrepit, sin-suffused mind, can there be understanding concerning the difference between right and wrong. 

But what a sham that the churches of God cannot see and act upon such public scandal!  How is it that the churches, singularly and as associations, cannot make a clear pronouncement about the heresies of politicians who would lead the people?

Are they so daft and lacking in mental strength and spiritual life that they cannot declare right from wrong and guide their people in the right path?

Where is simple unity about simple truth?  Excommunicate your apostates, churches!
