The People Are Going Into Exile

(Is. 5:13-23)

The people are going into exile For a big o’ lack o’ that knowledge (Got nothin’ t’ do with that college) The honorable men are famished And the multitude is downright parched Sheol got his mouth wide open For some souls ready and gropin’. The city’s getting’ swallowed right up (14) The Lord has His judgment goin’ on; Gonna show Himself downright holy. (16) The lambs in the house grazin’; Folks eatin’ their food without payin’! (17) Yeah, they rollin’ ’round in that iniquity, (16) Draggin’ ‘at sin here an’ there, Callin’ out God with some flare! (19) Woe to those who call wrong “good”!(20) Pollutin’ the people in the neighborhood! Got as much sense as a drip Runnin’ down some arm pit! Mixin’ ‘at booze and makin’ bribes; (23) Messin’ with all kinds o’ lives; Talkin’ on matters of low ponderability Forsakin’ all conversation responsibility.
