THE Sport of Wrestling

There were times in some places Where the boys who went out for wresting Were the kids who couldn’t play basketball; The lesser athletic kids, well, just wrestled. Such times and places are fewer now, thank God, As the sport is coming to its proper place of respect. It is THE sport where the most discipline And dedication and sacrifice is required. As that message on sanctification goes: We “wrestle” not against flesh and blood, But against spiritual powers in high places. Wrestling, indeed, is key to success in life. Buck up and take on the day with gusto. You have Him with you for your comfort And communication – One who has already Gone through the trials of life in this world. Wrestle with confidence that He is victorious. Let the sport rise in magnanimity and glory. It is THE sport of the Biblical story. (And what kind of world puts the sport Of ball-bouncing above venerable wrestling? Yes, we are a decadent people, indeed.)
