The Wicked Would Twist

The wicked one would twist and pervert; Ours is to resist, run, and stay alert. We stay on course by means of the Force That Spirit Whom He has sent By His grace to take the place Of the Savior Who saved the race From all its wanton disgrace. He rebukes, woos, and guides As we resolve each day to decide To keep those loins well girded, Not by the world driven and herded. He comes to us from day to day To keep us on the narrow way. Ours is to die and live for Him, To shun and run from wanton whim. He’s ever ready to scold and uphold And strengthen us that we be bold To preach and teach and live the way That leads others to a brighter day.
