To the Eunuchs!

Eulogize those eunuchised By vows solemnly made, Not to know of wife and child And all that family brings. These noble ones who self deny To walk in ways devoted Serving One who made the world And all of history unfurled. They gave up life and parenthood And all the joy it brings To follow God and honor Him In ways that sometimes sting. But they do bring that song Of praise and submission To that high goal of honor Given to Him who is worthy Of all praise and devotion, Who denied Himself those pleasures Known to many of His own. To His very self, though worthy Of all liberty and indulgence, He yet denied and was tried By all manner of misery and pain Our very souls to gain.
