Truth and War

Swords and Shields was war up close and personal: You see the eyes of a person as he dies Under the blows of your sword; No distancing death from your view. You do what you got to do; It is either he or you. And now we think less grimly of war, Carried out at distances remote Where a missile is sent beyond the view Of those who bomb their enemy. But what shall be the remedy? Bring back hand-to-hand combat? Or make Truth and Peace a priority. Ah, but true peace comes only when Truth is placed at the fore; Otherwise you play the whore.
