Who Killed That Child?

(2 Sam. 12)

Who killed that child Conceived by Bathsheba? The Lord done did him in! (15) Yet David did pray and fast Tried to fix his despicable past Nothing he could do, the child was dead But he didn’t let it go to his head Changed his clothes in his emotion Gave to God his due devotion (20) Then sat down and ate some food And started to fell pretty good. Said, “In due time I’m ‘o’ go to the Lord Fly right up!  I’m gonna soar.” (23) Didn’t let it go to his head; Took Bathsheba right to bed. (24) Solomon was the name of the son Or Jedediah, if you want to have fun. (25) Now, Joab fought against Rabbah And captured that royal city. (26) Turned out to be quite a pity; Took the crown right off the king’s head! To the sons of Ammon he was a dread (26) Cut ’em up will all kinds of tools (31) David’s men were to them as ghouls.
